The Presidency may have finally cleared the coast for Mohammed Abacha, the son of late General Sani Abacha, to join forces with pro Jonathan supporters and win back Kano State for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, next year. President Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George as the new Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The appointment was announced this evening by Presidential Spokesperson, Reuben Abati. Mrs Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). The appointment is with immediate effect. Bode George was arrested and jailed for fraud and abuse of office when he served as chairman of the Nigeria Ports Authority, but his conviction was later upturned by the Supreme Court.

Boko Haram men this evening attacked a football viewing center in Damaturu, Yobe State during a live football match between Brazil and Mexico in the ongoing world cup in Brazil. A Florida man who weighs 450pounds has been arrested by the US Police for hiding 23grams of marijuana in his stomach fat.   42 year old Christopher Mitchell was sitting on the passengers seat of his friend's car when a Volusia County sheriff's deputy stopped their vehicle and enquired why Christopher was not putting on his seat belt. Christopher said he tried but because of his weight, the seat belt didn't belt him up.   The police officer noticed the two men were nervous while speaking with him and he immediately requested a drug-detecting dog and instead of sniffing the car, the dog sniffed the man. The police searched the man and found the drugs in his stomach fat. Asides the illegal drug found on him, Chris also had on a handgun and $7,000 in cash in the vehicle. He was immediately arrested.

The Federal Government today Wednesday June 18th withdrew the corruption charges filed against Mohammed Abacha, son of former military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.   Mohammed who played a major role during his late father's administration is believed to have helped the late dictator launder a lot of stolen funds. The FG had accused Mohammed Abacha of receiving stolen property worth N100.38 billion, many of it kept in foreign countries.   The Federal government recently asked the US govt to return another $500 million recently frozen by the U.S. as part of funds stolen by the late dictator.

Actor Harrison Ford was injured on the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII" on Thursday and taken to a hospital for treatment, a Disney representative said. An event devoid of crisis heralded the grand entry of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi into the Emir palace in kano to ascend to the throne as Emir of Kano. A convoy of cars left the Kano State government house around 3:30PM accompanied by well-wishers, palace guard and Kano chief to break the wall for the Emir's entry into the palace.
