An event devoid of crisis heralded the grand entry of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi into the Emir palace in kano to ascend to the throne as Emir of Kano.

A convoy of cars left the Kano State government house around 3:30PM accompanied by well-wishers, palace guard and Kano chief to break the wall for the Emir's entry into the palace.

Sanusi, who was driven into the palace in the official vehicles of the emirate successfully entered into the palace through brand new gate, specifically erected for his entry as part of an age-old tradition.The palace guard then unleashed a series of gunshots  to mark his entry into the palace.The Emir has since returned to theGovernment House.
